Benign Lesion Removal
The removal of benign growths, such as skin tags, moles, sebaceous hyperplasia and seborrheic keratoses, requires precision and expertise. Using either surgical modalities, liquid nitrogen or electrocautery, these lesions can be safely removed while preserving the surrounding skin’s natural appearance and texture, minimizing or eliminating risk of any residual mark or scar.
Multidimensional Photodynamic Therapy
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) harnesses the power of light to address multiple skin concerns at a cellular level. By activating photosensitizing agents with precisely calibrated wavelengths, PDT selectively targets (like a “smart bomb”) pre-cancerous cells and acne without harming healthy tissues. A liquid photosensitizer (Levulan) is applied to affected skin, followed by activation of Levulan by a light source. PDT not only targets existing lesions on the surface but also “sees” subclinical lesions, resulting in a field treatment, resulting in natural skin renewal for a healthier, more clean and healthy complexion. Dr. Romine has also pioneered the pairing of PDT with Broad Band Light (BBL) resulting in superior efficacy of lesion clearance and aesthetic outcome. We often refer to our Multidimensional PDT- is “PDT (MPDT) on steroids” as addition of the second activator of the liquid photosensitizer often gives similar results of 2 PDT treatments in a single session.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation treatment that uses a medical-grade scalpel to gently and comfortably remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hairs (“peach fuzz”) to reveal a brighter, more radiant complexion.
